The Government of Andhra Pradesh and Google have agreed to establish a special joint task force to accelerate collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital governance, marking a significant step in the state's digital transformation agenda.
The decision was taken during a meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Karan Bhatia, President of Google Asia-Pacific, during the Chief Minister's visit to Singapore.
During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for AI, data centres and digital infrastructure in India. Chandrababu Naidu invited Google to play a larger role in the state's digital governance initiatives and sought support from Google Cloud in deploying AI-powered technologies to enhance public service delivery.
The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh's efforts to strengthen its Real-Time Governance ecosystem through advanced cloud technologies and AI-driven solutions. He also expressed interest in expanding AI skilling and cloud certification programmes in partnership with Google Cloud. The state is establishing AI and Cloud Computing Centres across universities and engineering colleges and is seeking Google's support in creating a strong innovation ecosystem.
Naidu also showcased the state's technology-driven healthcare initiatives, including the Sanjeevani Project, which aims to improve healthcare access through digital technologies. He invited Google to partner in the initiative and contribute technological expertise.
In a separate meeting, the Chief Minister held discussions with Sunil Nambiar, Head of Operations at YCH Logistics Group, regarding logistics infrastructure and the development of a world-class Supply Chain City in Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the state's strategic advantages, including its long coastline, ports, airports, road networks and railway connectivity.
The Chief Minister also met Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and invited the organisation to establish a Centre of Excellence in Andhra Pradesh. Discussions focused on sustainable urban development, municipal finance reforms, urban planning, slum upgrading programmes and integrating Sustainable Development Goals into city development frameworks.
Senior officials, including Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, participated in the meetings.
