Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed preparations for the NEET UG re-examination on June 21, stressing transparency, security and a hassle-free experience for students.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess preparedness for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, State Governments, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and higher educational institutions. Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of Higher Education Vineet Joshi and NTA Director General Abhishek Singh were also present.
During the meeting, Pradhan emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency and efficiency in the examination process. He directed all concerned authorities to remain vigilant and ensure comprehensive preparations for the smooth and fair conduct of the re-examination.
The Minister informed participants that officers designated by the Ministry of Education would be deployed across states to coordinate examination-related activities and report directly to the command centre headed by the NTA Director General. He also urged state government nodal officers to provide all necessary facilities to students and ensure a stress-free examination environment.
Sanjay Kumar stressed that students should be made comfortable by providing essential facilities such as seating arrangements before the examination and adequate drinking water at examination centres.
Vineet Joshi highlighted the importance of the period leading up to the re-examination, calling for proactive coordination, timely communication of instructions and strict adherence to prescribed protocols.
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said the agency was working closely with district-level coordination committees, state police departments and intelligence agencies to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. He added that extensive security and monitoring mechanisms had been put in place.
The review meeting included detailed discussions on examination preparedness, security protocols, logistical arrangements, grievance redressal systems and coordination mechanisms. States and Union Territories were advised to maintain close cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure a transparent and seamless examination process.
A total of 222 participants attended the meeting in hybrid mode, including officials from states and Union Territories, nodal officers of centrally funded institutions, vice-chancellors and directors of higher education institutions. All participants assured full cooperation to ensure a secure and hassle-free experience for NEET UG candidates.
