Gold Rate Today, October 6, 2026: Check the latest IBJA gold prices in India as global bullion faces pressure from a stronger US dollar and higher yields.

New Delhi: Gold prices in India remained at elevated levels on Tuesday, even as international bullion came under pressure from a stronger US dollar and rising Treasury yields.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the morning benchmark for 999-purity gold stood at Rs. 1,47,785 per 10 grams, or about Rs. 14,778.50 per gram. The benchmark rate is exclusive of GST and other charges, and the final price paid by consumers can vary across cities and jewellery outlets.
For 916-purity gold, commonly associated with 22-carat jewellery, the IBJA morning rate was Rs. 1,35,371 per 10 grams. Buyers should note that retail jewellery prices can be higher after adding GST, making charges and other applicable costs.
In the international market, spot gold fell 0.3% to $4,127.87 an ounce on Tuesday, according to Reuters. The decline came as the US dollar strengthened and yields on 10-year and 30-year Treasury securities climbed to their highest levels in decades. Higher yields tend to reduce the appeal of gold, which does not generate interest income.
However, the decline in bullion prices was limited by changing expectations over US monetary policy. Weaker-than-expected employment data and downward revisions to earlier payroll figures reduced expectations of an immediate Federal Reserve rate increase in October.
Market participants are also keeping a close watch on geopolitical developments and inflation risks, both of which can influence demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
For Indian consumers, gold rates could remain sensitive to international bullion prices as well as movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Those planning to purchase jewellery should therefore check the latest local rate and applicable charges before making a purchase.
