Minister BC Janardhan Reddy said Rayalaseema has attracted ₹5.33 lakh crore in investments in two years, transforming into a major hub for industries, jobs and infrastructure.

Mangalagiri: Roads and Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy on Monday said Rayalaseema is undergoing rapid transformation under the coalition government, with large-scale investments, industrial growth and infrastructure projects turning the region into what he described as "Ratanala Seema."
Addressing a press conference at the TDP Central Office in Mangalagiri, the Minister said that within two years of the coalition government assuming office, Rayalaseema had attracted investments worth Rs.5.33 lakh crore across 240 industries, accounting for nearly one-third of the total investments received by Andhra Pradesh.
He credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for restoring investor confidence and IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh for actively attracting industries to the state. According to the Minister, the investments are expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities for the youth of the region.
Highlighting major projects, Janardhan Reddy said the recently launched Carrier air-conditioner manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs.1,000 crore is expected to create around 3,000 jobs, while the Royal Enfield manufacturing facility coming up in Tirupati with an investment of Rs.2,508 crore is being fast-tracked.
He also described the proposed AMCA fighter jet manufacturing facility at Puttaparthi as a landmark project. Led by DRDO with an investment of Rs.15,800 crore, the facility is expected to generate around 7,500 direct jobs besides creating a large network of ancillary industries. Nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore worth of investments are expected in the Puttaparthi region, he added.
The Minister said industrial expansion was also gathering pace in renewable energy and emerging technologies. Reliance is setting up solar power and battery storage projects worth Rs.51,000 crore in Sri Sathya Sai district, while the Adani Group is developing a ₹12,000 crore hydro energy project in Kadapa. Kurnool is being developed as a Drone City, while Tirupati and Annamayya districts are being planned as a Space City ecosystem.
On irrigation, Janardhan Reddy alleged that the previous YSRCP government neglected Rayalaseema projects. He claimed the coalition government had already spent Rs.12,484 crore on irrigation works in two years and was accelerating projects such as Handri-Neeva. He also announced plans to invest Rs.1 lakh crore to develop Rayalaseema into India's leading horticulture hub.
The Minister further alleged that investor confidence had declined during the previous regime due to policy uncertainty, but said the coalition government had restored confidence through improved governance, law and order, and industrial-friendly policies. He said the government's vision was to transform Rayalaseema into a major destination for investments, employment and sustainable development.
