Vizag Steel Plant: AP Cabinet Demands Centre Reverse Privatisation

VIJAYAWADA: In a unanimous resolution passed during a special cabinet meeting on Monday, the Andhra Pradesh government urged the Centre to immediately reverse its decision on the strategic disinvestment of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), commonly known as Vizag Steel Plant.

The resolution, moved by Industries Minister T.G. Bharath, said that the proposed privatisation would betray the sacrifice of 32 martyrs who died in the historic Visakha Ukku Andolan of 1966–70.
