Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said Amaravati will be developed as an inclusive, world-class capital city with green infrastructure, sustainable development and a strong economic foundation.

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said Amaravati would be developed as a world-class capital city that would drive Andhra Pradesh's future economic growth while offering an inclusive and sustainable urban environment for people from across the State.
Reviewing the progress of the Amaravati 2.0 Integrated Master Plan and the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS-2) with senior officials and representatives from Singapore, the Chief Minister said the capital city should be designed as an integrated urban centre where people from all regions of Andhra Pradesh could live, work and thrive together.
Mr. Naidu stressed the need to build a strong economic ecosystem in Amaravati capable of generating large-scale employment opportunities. He said the capital was being planned to international standards with a modern transport network, including well-designed Inner and Outer Ring Roads, to support future expansion and connectivity.
During the review meeting, representatives from Singapore presented the project's implementation strategy, development framework and investment models. The proposed master plan covers area development, infrastructure planning and long-term investment mechanisms aimed at transforming Amaravati into a globally competitive capital.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh's water security, the Chief Minister said the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme had ensured the transfer of Godavari waters to the Krishna River despite El Niño-related challenges. This, he said, had made the Amaravati region water-secure and well-positioned for sustained urban and economic development.
Mr. Naidu said the government envisioned Amaravati as a Creative City with a diversified economic base driven by innovation, technology and sustainable development. The State aimed to achieve global standards in urban planning while striving to secure one of the highest per capita income levels through long-term economic growth.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of environmental sustainability, stating that Amaravati would promote green energy, green buildings and environmentally responsible urban planning as integral components of its development strategy.
Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, Finance Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar, senior officials and representatives from Singapore attended the review meeting.
