Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan will launch Rs. 11,085 crore worth of rural development works under Palle Panduga 3.0 at Udayagiri in Nellore district on September 29.
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan will launch development works worth Rs. 11,085 crore under Palle Panduga 3.0 at Udayagiri in Nellore district on September 29. Current reports also identify Ramapuram village in Varikuntapadu mandal of the Udayagiri constituency as the venue for the programme.
The latest phase of the rural development programme focuses on strengthening village infrastructure, improving road connectivity, supporting dairy and horticulture activities and expanding basic civic amenities.
As part of Palle Panduga 3.0, the government plans to construct 6,000 km of cement concrete (CC) roads in villages at a cost of Rs. 2,700 crore.
Another 9,500 km of bituminous (BT) roads will be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 7,550 crore, making rural road connectivity one of the largest components of the programme.
The programme also includes the construction of around 22,000 mini Gokulams, or cattle sheds, at a cost of Rs. 300 crore, aimed at supporting dairy farmers.
The Horticulture Department will undertake plantation activities across 50,000 acres with an allocation of Rs. 225 crore.
In addition, 1,000 km of magic drains will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 110 crore, while Rs. 200 crore will be spent on bus shelters, Gram Panchayat buildings, Rachabandas and other rural infrastructure works.
Of the overall Rs. 11,085 crore allocation, the Central share is Rs. 5,391 crore, while the State share is Rs. 5,694 crore.

The government has said the programme is intended to accelerate rural infrastructure development while creating better facilities for farmers, dairy producers and village communities.
The third phase builds on works undertaken under the earlier editions of Palle Panduga.
Under Palle Panduga 1.0, the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department undertook 4,000 km of CC roads, constructed 22,514 cattle sheds and 21,000 farm ponds, and took up horticulture plantations across 64,000 acres.
Under Palle Panduga 2.0, the works included 2,500 km of CC roads, 8,300 km of BT roads, 15,750 cattle sheds, 15,500 cattle water troughs, 86,000 farm ponds, 82,000 individual soak pits and 32 km of magic drains.
Palle Panduga 3.0 is being implemented with a focus on improving basic infrastructure in rural areas while supporting agricultural and allied activities.
The programme's major components cover road connectivity, drainage, public buildings, cattle shelters and horticulture plantations, with the government positioning the initiative as a continuation of its rural development works through successive phases.
Preparations for the September 29 launch are also underway at Ramapuram, with officials reviewing arrangements relating to the venue, traffic, parking, security and other facilities ahead of the visit of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
