Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath highlights the expansion of expressways, airports and metro services, saying improved connectivity is creating economic opportunities.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the expansion of road, rail and air connectivity in the state, saying improved infrastructure is creating new opportunities for economic growth, employment, tourism and public convenience.
In a post on X in Hindi on Thursday, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh’s transport infrastructure had undergone a significant transformation since 2017 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led “double-engine” government.
“Roads, rail, and air connectivity do not merely reduce distances; they bring new possibilities for convenience, time savings, and prosperity,” Mr. Adityanath said, contrasting the state’s infrastructure before 2017 with the expansion undertaken since then.
Highlighting the growth of road infrastructure, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh had only one and a half expressways before the BJP government came to power. The state now has 10 operational expressways, he added.
He said the expansion of high-speed road networks was improving connectivity between cities and other regions, making travel more convenient and supporting economic activity.
Mr. Adityanath also pointed to the expansion of air connectivity, stating that Uttar Pradesh now has 12 domestic and five international airports. Earlier, air services were limited to a few cities, he said.
The Chief Minister further said metro services, which were absent in the state before the BJP government assumed office, were now operating in seven cities, providing residents with faster and more convenient urban transport.
According to the Chief Minister, improved infrastructure is helping farmers access larger markets for their produce and creating fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses.
Better transport links are also making education and employment more accessible to young people, reducing travel time for working professionals and supporting tourism, he said. These developments, he added, were contributing to local economic activity and the livelihoods of families across the state.
Mr. Adityanath said the impact of infrastructure development was being felt across villages, towns and cities, describing improved connectivity and expanding economic opportunities as defining features of the “New Uttar Pradesh” within “New India”.
The Chief Minister’s remarks underline the state government’s emphasis on infrastructure-led development. The scale of the expansion and its economic outcomes can be assessed further through official project records and independently verified data.
