Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced distribution of 72.7 lakh Pattadar Passbooks by March 2027, promising to resolve land disputes and ensure secure ownership rights.

Banaganapalle: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday announced that the Andhra Pradesh Government will distribute 72.70 lakh Pattadar Passbooks across 9,833 villages by March 2027, aiming to make the State free from land disputes while ensuring secure ownership rights for every citizen.
Addressing the Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku programme after distributing Pattadar Passbooks to farmers, the Chief Minister said the government has launched a mission-mode initiative to resolve long-pending land disputes and restore public confidence in the land administration system.
He said the newly designed Pattadar Passbooks carry the official State Emblem (Raj Mudra) and incorporate advanced security features to safeguard ownership rights and eliminate errors. Unlike the previous system, the new passbooks reflect the authority of the State rather than political branding, he added.
Criticising the previous government, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the Land Titling Act created uncertainty among landowners and complicated land administration. He said the coalition government repealed the legislation soon after assuming office and has since focused on resolving disputed land records.
The Chief Minister said the government has already completed the Record of Rights process in 1,971 villages covering Village Inam lands and introduced auto-mutation to facilitate seamless transfer of inherited properties. He added that several long-pending disputes in Shettipalli, Vatticherukuru and Kangundi had already been resolved.
Referring to Waqf lands, he said 2,074 acres in the Done Assembly constituency had been removed from the prohibited list under Section 22-A, providing relief to affected farmers.
Highlighting the government's broader development agenda, Chandrababu Naidu said projects such as the Kadapa Steel Plant, Hero Motors manufacturing unit, and AMCA Defence Fighter Jet facility would transform Rayalaseema into a major hub for defence, aerospace, automobile and electronics industries while generating large-scale employment.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for rainwater harvesting amid deficient rainfall due to El Niño and reiterated the government's commitment to women's safety, communal harmony and transparent governance.
