A court in Malkajgiri has granted interim bail to Bandi Sai Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Bhageerath was arrested by the Cyberabad police on May 16 after surrendering before authorities. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Special Operations Team (SOT) and other police units, where investigators recorded his statement as part of the ongoing probe being conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
According to officials, the SIT questioned Bhageerath regarding the circumstances surrounding his alleged interaction with the minor victim and events that reportedly took place at a farmhouse in Moinabad. Investigators sought to establish the sequence of events and gather details relevant to the case.
As part of the inquiry, the SIT also examined information relating to individuals who were allegedly present at the farmhouse during the incident. Investigators reportedly questioned Bhageerath about his associates and their involvement, if any, in the events under investigation.
The probe has further focused on allegations that Bhageerath and some of his friends were involved in betting activities linked to bringing girls to such gatherings. Authorities are examining these claims as part of the broader investigation.
The court's decision to grant interim bail provides temporary relief to the accused while legal proceedings continue. Officials have stated that the investigation remains active, with evidence collection and witness examination still underway.
Police have not disclosed further details regarding the findings of the investigation, citing the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of a minor. The matter remains under judicial consideration, and further developments are expected as the probe progresses.
