Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across Andhra Pradesh and simplify Transport Department procedures to deliver faster and citizen-friendly services.
Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to ensure that no region in Andhra Pradesh faces drinking water scarcity and called for continuous monitoring of rainfall, reservoir levels and water availability to guarantee uninterrupted supply across the state.
Chairing a review meeting of various departments at the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) in the Secretariat, the Chief Minister instructed officials to closely monitor reservoir storage and remain prepared to address any emerging challenges related to drinking water.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that improved rainfall in the upper catchment areas is expected to enhance water availability in the Krishna and Godavari river basins. They also briefed him on the prevailing flood situation in the Godavari River.
Emphasising efficient water management, Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to make optimum use of inflows into the Krishna basin from upstream rainfall. He also instructed departments to ensure there is no shortage of fodder and to build adequate reserves to meet the needs of livestock throughout the year.
During the review, officials presented the ongoing reforms in the Transport Department, including greater use of technology and the removal of unnecessary regulations to improve service delivery.
According to officials, the reforms are aimed at reducing corruption, increasing transparency and making transport-related services more accessible to the public.
The Chief Minister directed the department to further simplify procedures by removing unnecessary conditions so that the Transport Department becomes more efficient and citizen-friendly.
The review reflected the government's emphasis on proactive governance, resource management and administrative reforms to improve public service delivery across departments.
Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and other senior officials attended the meeting.
