The Cockroach Janata Party has announced a peaceful youth march from India Gate to Delhi Police Headquarters on September 5, seeking implementation of Central Government assurances.
New Delhi: The national working committee of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has announced a large-scale peaceful youth march in the national capital on September 5, demanding that the Central Government fulfil assurances it had allegedly given to youth representatives.
The march is scheduled to begin at India Gate and proceed towards the Delhi Police Headquarters. According to the party, families of deceased NEET aspirants and people who claim to have been affected by alleged police action will lead the protest.
The party alleged that the Central Government had failed to implement assurances given to youth on July 25.
According to the CJP, a nationwide youth movement was called off after the government gave assurances, with participants expecting the commitments to be implemented subsequently. The party alleged that the government had since delayed action on the assurances.
The CJP also referred to proceedings in the Supreme Court on August 18, claiming that the court had sought details of FIRs registered across the country. The party alleged that the government had not provided a clear commitment on the issue and that a written assurance regarding the commitments was still awaited.
The party said the youth movement was being revived because of the alleged delay in fulfilling the government’s commitments.
“Our patience should not be mistaken for weakness. The government should not turn our trust into an opportunity for betrayal,” the CJP said.
The party maintained that its demand was limited to implementation of the assurances allegedly given by the government.
The CJP called upon Gen-Z youth, students and youth and student organisations from across the country to participate in the September 5 march.
The party said families who had lost their children would lead the demonstration, while people alleging police brutality would join them.
It emphasised that the proposed gathering would be peaceful and described the march as a collective demand for accountability and fulfilment of government commitments.
The CJP urged participants to assemble at India Gate, New Delhi, on September 5.
